NACD is working with the Smithsonian Institution and the Soil Science Society of America to develop education materials and resources for the Smithsonian soils exhibit called "Dig It! The Secrets of Soil." The exhibit will be located on the second floor of the Smithsonian's National Museum of Natural History in Washington, D.C.

Two private, guided tours of the soils exhibit are available for registered attendees of NACD’s Legislative Conference. Experience the exhibit without the crowds—the exhibit hall will be closed to the public for the Monday evening tour and opened before public viewing hours Tuesday morning.

Space for these tours is limited. Reservations will be made on a first-come, first served basis and will only be accepted through the conference registration form. Participants will be responsible for their own transportation to the museum.

Please note: The museum will also be open to general visitors throughout the conference, starting Saturday, July 19, 2008. Participants are welcome to visit on their own. The summer hours of the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History are 10 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
